Final Spark! Masque

Points of inspiration: 

- Pearl-and-gold pattern taken from the fabric parts of her outfit (skirt/shoulders) = the base pattern of the masque

- Lux's wand = the stick that the masque was mounted on

- Finales Funkeln/Final Spark = all the prismatic rainbow sparkle ribbons! I started out with using it for eyelashes, then decided that it wasn't rainbow sparkle enough and made curlicues to come out of the eyes too. It's meant to be kind of a bit like Lux shooting rainbow sparkle lasers out of her eyes. 

I also tried to incorporate as much shiny, metallic, and prismatic/iridescent/light into this as much as I could! Had I more time/patience I would have also put in a few LEDs (ok really a whole string of them, because I bought them at Christmastime, battery-operated LEDs). The saddest thing is, though, that it's nearly impossible to photograph the amount of radiance this truly has... and that was the whole point of this design. :/ You can see the colors best in the second photo (just imagine it a hundred times brighter!), and the third photo (look for the radiance of the rainbow against part of the mask, and the reflections on the wall that looked like a bunch of her ults lining up... mmm). In the fourth photo, I am wearing blue contacts, put a headband in my hair, and tried to kind of match the color of my top to the color of her bodysuit. You really can't tell though. 

Materials: 

- Acrylic paint

- Iridescent glass tear-drop beads, gold jump rings (had I more time, they'd probably have gone the whole way along the bottom, oh well)

- Gold braid

- Worbla 

- Wooden dowel

- Gesso 

- Prismatic ribbon

- Tools used may or may not have included: suturing/surgical tools such as a hemostat and a curved kelly...
